Human melanocytes (HEMn-LP) cultured in Medium 154 supplemented with HMGS-2 from the 4th culture to the 18th culture were subcultured into either HMGS-2 containing medium or HMGS containing medium (19â culture.) The cells were then fixed and reacted with L-DOPA. Control cultures were human dermal fibroblasts (HDFn) grown in Medium 106 supplemented with LSGS. The figure demonstrates that melanocytes grown in these conditions express tyrosinase, even near the end of their culture lifespan.
